Abstract

PURPOSE:To set off the scattering characteristics of an ultrasonic propagation route and to measure the accurate ultrasonic attenuation characteristics of a specific region by arranging a low frequency ultrasonic converting part sending out a pump wave pulse to an outer peripheral part in an annular state centering around a high frequency ultrasonic converting part sending out a probe wave pulse. CONSTITUTION:A housing 1 is partitioned into an ultrasonic cell 4 and a rear electric system cell 5. An ultrasonic converter 6 is provided in the ultrasonic cell 4 and the rotary shaft 7 thereof is supported in a rotatable manner within the housing 1 and a disk-shaped probe wave ultrasonic converter sending out a probe wave pulse being a high frequency ultrasonic pulse is arranged to the center part of the ultrasonic converter 6 and an annular pump wave ultrasonic converter sending out a pump wave pulse being a low frequency ultrasonic pulse is arranged to the outer peripheral part of the probe wave ultrasonic converter. By this constitution, the output of the pump wave pulse can be increased when the probe wave pulse is superposed on the pump wave pulse. Further, the probe wave pulse can be,accurately superposed on the pump wave pulse without generating strain.
