That is, in FIG. 3, 1 is an air conditioner, which includes a blower 2 and an electric motor 3, which are installed downward in a box 1a installed on the ceiling, and a heat exchanger 4 and a dew pan 5 placed around them. and a box body 1
A panel 6 is provided on the lower surface of a. 6
a is a suction port provided in the center of the panel 6;
6b is a discharge port provided on the outer periphery of the panel 6. Further, 7 is an orifice ring of the blower 2. When the above configuration is operated, air in the air-conditioned room is sucked in through the suction port 6a of the panel 6, passes through the heat exchanger 4, and is discharged from the discharge port 6b.

Sound is absorbed and attenuated on the inner surface of the hole, and has the effect of reducing noise propagation to the air-conditioned room.

A soft felt-like material is pasted on the inner surface of the aforementioned cylindrical hole 8a to provide a sound absorbing effect. Also, the effect is the same even if the entire silencer is made of soft felt-like material and a number of holes as described above are made in it.

By operating the air conditioner, air in the air-conditioned room is sucked in through the suction port 6a of the panel 6, passes through the muffler 8, passes through the blower 2, passes through the heat exchanger 4, and is discharged from the discharge port 6b. . In this state, wind noise and inflow noise when passing through the blower, so-called noise, propagate through the air and spread toward the suction port.
is transmitted to the entire air-conditioned room from the suction port 6a,
The noise is caused by the operation of the air conditioner.
