Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable feeding of paper loaded on each bottle into an envelope automatically without fail. CONSTITUTION:An envelope holding part 45 of a packing unit 46 which serves as an enveloping means which feeds paper P on a paper loading bottle 35 into an envelope held by the envelope holding part 45 is constituted of a pair of chuck rollers 59 and 60 which can rotate in a pressing contact with each other in the vertical direction. A vertical transfer passage 42 to introduce the envelope to the rollers, envelope guides 57 and 58 to guide the envelope to nip parts of the rollers, and an envelope detecting sensor 62 arranged on the upstream of the transfer of the nip part are provided, so that, when a rear end of the envelope transferred through the vertical transfer passage 42 is detected by the sensor 62, the chuck rollers 59 and 60 stop the transfer of the envelope, and then, the rollers' rotation is reversed by a prescribed volume to hold the envelope, whereby the envelope is held at a position spaced from the rear end of the envelope by a prescribed distance. Thus the paper P can be fed into the envelope without possibility of dropping down.

As described above, according to the present invention, the following effects can be obtained. According to the invention of claim 1, the envelope is conveyed in the vertical conveying path with the flap side as the rear end side and is fed between the nip portions of the rollers or rollers,
When the envelope detection sensor detects the rear end of the envelope, it stops it and then reversely rotates the roller or roller by a predetermined amount to hold and hold the envelope by them.
Since the envelope is less likely to come off the holding part as much as the holding position by the roller or roller becomes a position where a predetermined amount is secured from the rear end of the envelope, paper should be automatically packed in the envelope with the envelope held securely. You can

According to the second aspect of the present invention, a part of the elastically deformable sheet-shaped unsealing member is brought into contact with a part of the roller or the roller below the envelope holding portion, so that it is brought into close contact with the envelope. Therefore, since the unsealing member can be reliably inserted into the opening of the envelope, the reliability of the unsealing operation is improved.

According to the invention of claim 3, when the envelope detecting sensor detects the rear end of the envelope and the opening of the envelope is below the lower end of the unsealing member, the roller or the roller is stopped. After that, since the opening member is inserted by inserting the unsealing member into the opening of the envelope by rotating the roller or roller in the reverse direction by a predetermined amount, both the role of the roller or roller holding the envelope and the role of performing the opening operation. Since it also serves as a device, it is possible to make the device compact, which can automatically carry the paper into the envelope.

According to the opening method of the envelope by the post-processing device of the image forming apparatus of claim 4, the envelope is conveyed by the envelope guide to the nip portion of the roller or the roller with the flap side as the rear end side, and the sensor detects the envelope. When the rear end is detected and the opening of the envelope becomes lower than the lower end of the unsealing member, the conveyance of the envelope by the roller or roller is stopped, and then the envelope is simply rotated backward by a predetermined amount to open the envelope. Since the member is inserted into the opening of the envelope to open the opening, the envelope can be opened with a simple mechanism and control.
