(b) Problems with the Prior Art When connecting a pair of constant polarization fibers, the planes of polarization of the optical fibers must be matched, so the structure of the optical connector is complex and requires high precision. FIG. 1 is a side sectional view for explaining a conventional optical connector, in which 1 is an adapter, 2 is a sleeve, 3 and 3' are plugs, 4 and 4' are constant polarization fibers, 11 is a sleeve insertion hole, 12 is a male screw.

Male screws 12 are formed at both ends of an adapter 1 made of metal such as brass, and a sleeve insertion hole 11 is bored, into which the sleeve 2 is inserted. Then, a predetermined amount of the coating on the ends of the constant polarization fibers 4 and 4' is removed and fixed to the plugs 3 and 3', and the plugs 3 and 3' are screwed into the adapter 1 from both ends to connect them. I'm starting to do that. However, in the case of a connector having such a configuration, it is difficult to adjust the angular deviation of the polarization plane of the optical fiber, and there are problems in that the connection loss is large.

(C) Purpose of the Invention In view of the above-mentioned conventional problems, an object of the present invention is to provide an optical connector for constant polarization fiber, which has a configuration in which the plane of polarization of the optical fiber can be adjusted freely when the connectors are connected. It is something to do.

(d) Structure of the Invention In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the present invention provides an optical connector for a constant polarization fiber consisting of two plugs and an adapter into which the plugs are inserted from both ends, in which the connectors are coupled together. A plurality of screw holes 61, a recess 62, a male screw 12, and a sleeve insertion hole 11 are formed in the flange portion of the fixed side adapter 6 made of metal such as brass. On the other hand, the rotation side adapter 7 has a concave and a convex portion, that is, a protrusion 71 corresponding to the concave portion 62 and a sleeve insertion hole 11.
and a male thread 12 are formed so that the protrusion 71 of the rotating adapter 7 is connected to the recess 6 of the stationary adapter 6.
After inserting the sleeve 2 into the sleeve 2 and screwing it in with a plurality of tightening screws 9 through the presser plate 8, the sleeve 2 made of metal such as brass is inserted into the integrated sleeve insertion hole 11.
Insert. Then, a predetermined amount of the coating on the ends of the constant polarization fibers 4 and 4' is peeled off and fixed to the plugs 3 and 3', and the plugs 3 and 3' are screwed into the rotating side adapter 7 and the fixed side adapter 6. It was designed so that it could be connected by inputting it. When adjusting the plane of polarization of the constant polarization fibers 4 and 4', first loosen the tightening screw 9 and adjust the plane of polarization while rotating the rotating adapter 7 as shown by the arrow in FIG. , it is sufficient to tighten and fix the tightening screw 9 in the best condition. With this configuration, the axial force when adjusting the plane of polarization is applied to the splitting surface of the abutting adapter, that is, the concave,
The abutment surface of the convex part (protrusion) receives it, does not directly reach the coupling surface of the polarization fiber, and moreover, the protrusion is held against the concave part by a ring-shaped holding plate, and the screw is tightened in the axial direction. Because it is locked,
There is no rotational deviation when locked.

(f) Effect of the invention As is clear from the above explanation, the adapter for constant polarization fiber according to the present invention is divided into two parts, and the concave and convex parts formed on the divided surfaces are rotatably abutted and fitted, After adjusting the mutual rotation angle and matching the polarization planes, they are locked in the axial direction with a holding plate, making it easy to adjust the angle deviation of the polarization planes, improving connection efficiency and contributing to improved transmission characteristics. However, it is large.
