Conventionally, in cleaning the sponge material layer in this type of filtration device, cleaning water and air are flowed either singly or simultaneously to wash away the suspended matter trapped in the sponge material and discharged to the outside of the system. however,
In a soft elastic body with a mesh structure like a sponge, suspended matter is trapped inside, and it is difficult to completely wash out the inside by such a cleaning operation.

Furthermore, attempts have been made to utilize the elasticity of the sponge to compress the sponge from the outside with a mechanical means such as a cylinder to squeeze out the turbid content inside the sponge. The advantage of this method is that the liquid can be removed in a short time, but the means for compressing the sponge is structurally complex, and there are also problems in discharging the squeezed turbidity out of the system.

In the present invention, filtration is performed using a sponge material layer in the tank to remove suspended matter in the water,
If such filtration is continued for a long period of time, the resistance increases as in conventional filtration, and in some cases, suspended matter begins to leak into the filtrate, so the sponge material layer must be cleaned.

When cleaning, a fluid such as water or air is pressurized into an inflatable body placed inside the sponge material layer, and the inflatable body is expanded to compress the sponge material and remove the suspended matter trapped within the sponge material. This method squeezes out the suspended matter and introduces washing water into the tank to accurately wash out the squeezed suspended matter out of the system.

Close the overwater valve V4 and close the drain valve V in the cleaning drain pipe 11.
Open 3. Next, when the wash water valve V5 is opened and the wash water is introduced into the water collection part 13 through the overwater outflow pipe 14, the wash water is dispersed in the lower porous support 3 and washes the sponge material 4 in an upward flow. Become,
The cleaning drainage water is discharged from the cleaning drainage pipe 11 to the drainage section 12 via the drainage valve V3. At the same time, compressed air as an inflation fluid, for example, is forced into the inflation body 5 from the inflation fluid introduction pipe 8 through the three-way valve V1 and further through the flexible tube 9. By press-fitting the compressed air, the expandable body 5 expands and the sponge material 4 is compressed outward, as shown by the two-dot chain line. As a result, the suspended solids trapped in the sponge material 4 are squeezed out, and are discharged to the drainage section 12 as cleaning wastewater along with the upwardly flowing cleaning water.

In addition, a compressed air outlet is provided in the expansion body 5,
When compressed air is ejected while expanding the expandable body 5, in addition to the effect of squeezing out the turbidity from the sponge material due to the expansion, the compressed air also has the effect of washing away the turbidity, thereby promoting the cleaning effect of the sponge material 4. Furthermore, in the above-mentioned cleaning operation, the expansion body 5
It is also a preferable embodiment to repeat the expansion and contraction of the sponge material 4 to enhance the effect of squeezing out the suspended matter in the sponge material 4. That is, when the expansion body 5 is expanded, compressed air is forced into the expansion body 5 as described above, and when the expansion body 5 is deflated, the three-way valve V1 is pressed.
The expansion body 5 is repeatedly opened to the atmosphere and contracted as shown by the broken line.

Further, FIGS. 2 and 3 show other embodiments of the device of the present invention, and in the first illustrated example, the expansion body 5
is placed in the center of the overtank 1, and its expansion causes the sponge material 4 to be compressed in the outer circumferential direction, whereas in the examples shown in FIGS. 5 is divided into one or more parts and attached to the side wall of the tank 1, and each expander 5 is connected to a flexible tube 9. Therefore,
The sponge material 4 is compressed toward the center of the overtub 1 by the expansion of the expansion body 5 (indicated by the two-dot chain line).
