Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to measure an external size simply and accurately by using a telecentric optical system for the side of an object as an optical system, and providing the image focusing relationship between the object and the position of a light receiving body through a light receiving lens.
CONSTITUTION: A light receiving lens 40 is arranged between a light projecting lens 12 and a light receiving body 30 through an appropriate space with respect to the light projecting lens 12. An aperture stop 50 is provided at the position of the focal point at the image side at the rear part of the lens 40. The aperture stop 50 is formed so that a pinhole 51 is provided in a thin light screening plate. Thus, the optical system which is telecentric on the side of an object is constituted. An object to be measured 60 is provided at the arbitrary position in the space between the light projecting lens 12 and the light receiving lens 40 in the optical system. The light receiving body 30 is arranged at the conjugate position with respect to the central point of the space and the light receiving lens 40. Approximate image focusing relationship is maintained as the position relationship between the object 60 and the light receiving body 60 in the space. When, the object (round rod) 60 is inserted into a space part 3 at a right angle with the optical axis, the image corresponding to the outer diameter of the round rod 60 is focused on the light receiving body 30. As a result, the size of the outer diameter of the round rod 60 is found by the change in output.
