Abstract

PURPOSE: To generate an electrochemical reaction equally in a process gap, and to set a process condition for obtaining a high accuracy process shape by setting the total current amount of pulse current in an electrochemical machining based on the surface roughness of a material to be processed before processing, and on an aimed surface roughness.
CONSTITUTION: The setting of a process condition is started by a process condition control part 15 of a controller 12, and when a process area Ar of a work 1, a process gap value Gp, a surface roughness Rm0 before processing and an aimed surface roughness Rm1 are set, the amount of current application Ia per unit process area necessary for obtaining the aimed surface roughness Rm1 is calculated from the surface roughtness Rm0 before processing. A process depth Dp, or the amount of process enlargement is calculated, and the amount of total current application Iat necessary for electrochemical process is calculated, and an optimal pulse current waveform for equalizing the electrochemical reaction to the process area Ar of the work 1 as well as to the process gap value Gp, is determined. By applying the pulse current of the optimal peak current value Ip thus obtained, a rate of change of waveform Wf, and of a pulse width Tp, electrochemical process can be carried out without reaction variation.
