Abstract

PURPOSE:To strand plural optical fibers uniformly by supporting the optical fiber fixture of one drawing table on the drawing table so that the fixture can rotate on its axis, but does not revolve. CONSTITUTION:One optical fiber fixture 7 is fitted to a rotary body 6 opposite the other fixture 1 and supported rotatably through a bearing 8. Its gravity center position is set below the center of rotation of the fixture 7 and is held invariable in top-bottom relation as the rotary body 6 rotates, so that the fixture 7 does not rotate on its axis even if the rotary body 6 rotates and the fixture 7 revolves. The rotary body 6 is supported on the drawing table 11 rotatably through a bearing 10. Then when the rotary body 6 is rotated, optical fibers 4 and 5 are stranded at the position of a point P. Consequently, the optical fibers are not twisted when stranded, so uniform tension is applied to the optical fibers at the stranded parts and the optical fibers have no internal stress.
