Abstract

PURPOSE: To connect a multi-unit ribbon of optical fibers in a short time with high accuracy by using a V-groove chip which is machined with high accuracy, an optical pressure clip which fixes optical fibers positioned on the V-groove chip mechanically, and a jacket part fixing clip which fixes the jacket parts of coated optical fibers.
CONSTITUTION: This member is equipped with the V-groove chip 1 which one or plural optical fiber V grooves 11 and two guide pin V grooves 12 are machined on the surface with high accuracy, a housing 2 which stores and holds the V-groove chip 1, and an optical fiber pressure clip 3 which presses and fixes the optical fibers 81 in the V grooves 11 at an opened optical fiber V- groove part. Further, the member is equipped with the jacket fixing clip 4 which presses and fixes the jacket parts 82 of the optical fiber ribbon 8 positioned at the rear part of the upper plate 7 of the optical fiber V grooves 11. Consequently, the optical fiber connection member which makes a low-loss connection in a short time is obtained.
