Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject waterproof cloth having excellent waterproof and moisture-permeating properties and stable resistance to needle by laminating a continuous porous polytetrafluoroethylene film on the surface of ultrahigh density cloth comprising single fibers having a specific fiber size.
CONSTITUTION: A continuous porous polytetrafluoroethylene film is coated with a hydrophilic resin layer having air-diffusible and moisture-permeable properties composed of, e.g. polyurethane resin, and the resultant film is laminated on the surface of an ultrahigh density cloth composed of yarn of single fibers having ≤1.5 denier to afford the objective moisture-permeable and waterproof cloth, excellent in waterproof and moisture-permeating properties, and also having resistance to needle without inhibiting performance thereof even in advancing into a fasciculation region of thorn plants.
