Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a machining device capable of detecting-recognizing the cutting state and shape accuracy during machining at real time to perform feedback to machining in an ultra-precision cutting field.
CONSTITUTION: A lathe 2 for machining a sensitized drum base body 1, being a thin metallic cylinder member, is provided with a tool rest 3, and a force sensor 4 for detecting machining reaction during cutting is fitted to the tool rest 3. An output signal obtained from the force sensor 4 is amplified by a dynamic distortion gage 5 and changed into a digital signal by an A/D converter 6 so as to be taken into a computer 7. A memory and a disk device are connected as a storage means 8 to the computer 7. Plural mode pattern signals stored in the storage means 8 and classified according to the machined surface state at the time of cutting are compared with the output signal obtained from the force sensor 4 by a comparing means 9 to detect the state during cutting. The computer 7 prepares signals for controlling machining after detection and sends control signals to an NC device or a sequencer 10 for controlling the lathe 2 through a digital IO board RS232C interface or the like.
