スタッカークレーンの加速・減速を行なわなければなら
ないので、スタッカークレーンを高速で走行させること
が出来ず、スタッカークレーンの本来の機能を十分に発
揮出来ないにも拘らず、スタッカークレーンの走行に必
要な装置は設備しなければならず、コスト高になるとい
う欠点があった。また、スタッカークレーン自体のコン
パクト化にも限界があるため、スタッカークレーンのた
めに自動倉庫の左右端部に所定のデッドスペースが必要
であるが、左右方向に短いラック装置の場合、そのデッ
ドスペースの占める割合が高くなり、土地の有効利用を

Wを持ち上げてスライドフォーク20に載せたりする作
