Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a stimulable phosphor which is easily water-sol. and electrically nonconductive and enables the effective formation of a very fine and dense pattern by depositing an org. compd. having a specified mol.wt. on the surface of the stimulable phosphor.
CONSTITUTION: A stimulable phosphor which is easily water-sol., electrically nonconductive, and prepd. by depositing a specific org. compd. with a mol.wt. of 4000 or lower on the surface of a stimulable phosphor or a pigmented stimulable phosphor. Examples of the compd. are an aldose-type monosaccharide with a mol.wt. of 180 (e.g. mannose) and a ketose-type monosaccharide with a mol.wt. of 180 (e.g. fructose). The prepd. stimulable phosphor is free from agglomeration when dry, is stably dispersed in water because of the existence of an easily water-sol. substance on the surface when converted into a slurry, is excellent in dispersibility in water and suitability for sifting, exhibits a strong adhesive power, and has a high denseness.
