Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the plate thickness accuracy of a plate tip part.
CONSTITUTION: A sampling device 3 for sampling a temperature at every prescribed distance by a detecting means 2 for detecting continuously a temperature from the tip position of a bar stock 1 is provided. The sampling temperature is selected by a crop length cut computing element 4 based on this temperature and in the case there is an abnormal value contained in the remaining data, it is corrected by a temperature abnormality detecting means 5. From the corrected sample temperature and fundamental data of the bar stock, a roll peripheral velocity V1 of each stand and a temperature prediction value in each position are derived by a finish setting calculating device.
