Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a dense ceramic member and to improve impact strength and bending strength by heating a ceramic powder molded body containing a soln. of ceramic precursor.
CONSTITUTION: A ceramic powder (e.g. ZrO2, Si3N4 or Al2O3) to which binder is added is molded by extrusion, etc., and coated or impregnated with a soln. of ceramic precursor (e.g. metal alkoxide, metal inorg. acid salt. or inorg polymer), and calcined to obtain a ceramic member. Further, a ceramic powder and other ceramics different from the ceramic in the ceramic precursor are mixed (e.g. oxide and nitride) to obtain a mixed ceramic.
