Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent generation of nebulae and to improve a cooling efficiency by a method wherein a temperature of the refrigerant within a pipe of an air conditioner provided with an optical refrigerant state sensor is detected, and a compressor is stopped until the refrigerant temperature is lowered more than a predetermined temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A temperature sensor for use in sensing a temperature of refrigerant is disposed in the midway of a pipe in which refrigerant is circulated. When the temperature is higher than a predetermined temperature in response to a detected signal of the temperature sensor, it is judged that there occurred some nebulae in the refrigerant and then the compressor is stopped. In turn, as the temperature of the refrigerant is lower than the predetermined temperature, the nebulae in the refrigerant disappear, resulting in that the compressor is energized. With such an arrangement, it is possible to operate the compressor efficiently and to improve an efficiency of the refrigerant effectively.
