BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Generally, a weather strip having a hollow structure as shown in FIG. 1 is often used as a weather strip attached to the edge of a trunk opening. This is a cross section approximately U that fits into the opening edge flange (not shown) of the vehicle body.
It is roughly composed of a letter-shaped welt part 1 and a hollow seal part 2 attached to the top of this welt part 1. The welt part 1 is made of solid rubber or the like, and a core metal 3 is embedded inside. It also has a plurality of flange holding lips 4 on the inside, and a drainage lip 5 on the outside surface on the vehicle body side. The hollow seal part 2 is made of elastic sponge rubber or the like and extruded at the same time as the welt part 1, and has a substantially doglegged cross section with its base end connected to the top of the welt part 1. The base end is also connected to the top of the welt part 1, and the tip is connected to the panel contact part 6.
It consists of a pillar part 7 connected to the back side of the tip part,
The support section 7 faces the panel contact section 6 and has a substantially doglegged cross section, and a hollow section close to a diamond shape is formed between the two.

The hollow seal part 2 having the above structure is compressed and deformed in the vertical direction when the panel surface of a trunk lid or the like presses against the panel contact part 6, and sealing is performed by the reaction force. In the case of compressive deformation, the center portion A of the panel contact portion 6 and the support portion 7, which are approximately doglegged, respectively.
B is bent and is crushed vertically while remaining approximately diamond-shaped.

Therefore, when the hollow seal portion 2 is crushed due to a partially elevated panel surface of a trunk lid or the like, as shown in FIG.
A panel contact portion 6 is further placed on top of the folded support portion 7.
This results in a three-layered state in which the trunk lid is overlapped and cannot be easily bent any further, resulting in a problem that the reaction force applied to the trunk lid etc. increases rapidly. In other words, conventionally, the deformable width that does not cause an extreme increase in reaction force is small, and if the amount of deformation becomes large locally due to an error in assembling the trunk lid, the tightness of the trunk lid, etc. tends to deteriorate. Note that the wall thickness of the support column 7 is generally required to be at least 75% of the wall thickness of the panel contact section 6 in order to maintain the shape during molding, and it is difficult to ensure the amount of deformation by reducing the thickness. difficult.

Purpose of the Invention The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned conventional problems, and its purpose is to prevent the strut portion from folding multiple times when the hollow seal portion is greatly compressed and deformed. The object is to increase the amount of permissible deformation and prevent unnecessary increases in reaction force exerted on the trunk lid and the like.

Structure of the Invention The weather strip according to the present invention locates the connection portion between the panel contact portion and the support portion outside the side extension line of the welt portion, and approximately
Connected at an angle of 90 degrees, the distal end of the strut from this connection to the bending point is arranged approximately parallel to the side surface of the welt, and the proximal end of the strut extends from the proximal end of the strut to the bending point. It is characterized in that the portion is curved outward and bent approximately 90 degrees at the bending point.

Embodiment FIG. 3 is a sectional view showing an embodiment of the weather strip according to the present invention, and as described above, 1 is a welt part, 2 is a hollow seal part, 3 is a core metal, and 4 is a flange. Holding lips 5 indicate draining lips, and the hollow seal portion 2 is composed of a panel abutting portion 6 and a support portion 7. Here, the panel abutting portion 6 has a substantially dogleg-shaped cross section, and the range from the bending point A to the tip 6a is such that the tip 6a protrudes relatively outwardly from the side extension L of the welt portion 1. , which is slightly longer than the conventional one. On the other hand, the proximal end portion of the support column 7 from the bending point B at the approximate center to the proximal end 7a is curved outward, bending approximately 90 degrees at the bending point B, and extending approximately vertically from there. The distal end 7a is connected to the rear surface of the distal end of the panel contacting portion 6, more specifically, at a position C outside the side extension L of the welt portion at an angle of approximately 90°.

When the hollow seal portion 2 configured as described above is compressed in the vertical direction, the base end portion from the bending point B of the support portion 7 to the base end 7b easily bends outward.
In addition, since the panel contact portion 6 can be bent while maintaining the connection portion C between the panel contact portion 6 and the support portion 7 protruding outside the side extension line L of the welt portion 1, the bending point B of the support portion 7 can be bent. The distal end side portion from to the distal end 7a does not fall inward. That is, even if it is crushed to a large extent, the support column 7 will escape to the outside of the welt section 1 without folding over itself, as shown in FIG. 4, and a correspondingly large amount of deformation will be tolerated. Therefore, even if the panel surface of the trunk lid or the like is partially elevated, the reaction force will not increase excessively and nimble opening/closing operations will be possible. Since the tip side portion of the support column 7 is deformed in a substantially vertical state as shown in the figure, even if it escapes to the outside of the welt portion 1, the tip of the panel contact portion 6 can be pressed relatively strongly. , and sufficient sealing force can be obtained. In addition, since the support portion 7 does not overlap as described above, there is leeway in setting the wall thickness of the panel contact portion 6 and the support portion 7, and by increasing the thickness, durability and shape stability can be improved. You can also do it.

Effects of the Invention As is clear from the above invention, the weather strip according to the present invention can reduce the reaction force when closing the trunk lid, back door, etc., prevent poor tightening, and This has the effect of making it possible to increase the thickness of the material.
