Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate need for a blanking device by converting an X ray transmitted through a reagent into an optical image, reading only a charge produced from a solid-state image pickup element and in a timing of pulse X ray exposure As a valid signal and displaying the signal visually.
CONSTITUTION: A solid-state image pickup element CCD 11 acts like a television camera, receives an X ray transmitted through a reagent 2 and converts it into an optical signal. Moreover, an X ray generator 8 exposes a pulse X ray to an X-ray tube 1 and a drive signal generator 12 generates a drive signal to the CCD 11. The drive signal is given to the CCD 11, which reads only a charge produced in a timing of pulse X ray exposure as a signal. Furthermore, the CCD 11 has an electronic shutter function and the charge produced in the CCD 11 is swept out at a tail of the pulse X ray and the charge is not outputted as a signal. Since the valid signal from the CCD 11 is displayed visually on a CRT 5, no blanking device is required.
