Abstract

PURPOSE:To estimate human movement to actuate a passenger protection device main body surely and accurately by providing the passenger protection device main body to be actuated upon receipt of a trigger signal from a comparison circuit output when an addition output from an addition circuit exceeds a specified threshold value. CONSTITUTION:An acceleration sensor 1 for detecting acceleration at the time of vehicle collision, a first, integration circuit 2 for integrating an detection output thereof, a first coefficient circuit 4 for adding a first coefficient to the detection output of the acceleration sensor 1, a second coefficient circuit 5 for adding a second coefficient to an integration output of the first integration circuit 2, and a second integration circuit 3 for further integrating the integration output of the first integration circuit 2 are provided. Outputs of the first coefficient circuit 4, of the second coefficient circuit 5 and of the second integration circuit 3 are added together in an adding circuit 6, and when an addition output of the adding circuit 6 exceeds a specified threshold value a trigger signal is output by a comparison circuit 7. Upon receipt of the trigger signal of the comparison circuit 7, a passenger protection device main body is actuated by an ignition device 9.
