Abstract
PURPOSE: To optimize sheet crown control by limiting roll bend pressure when the deviation between the elongation percentage that is detected with a flatness detecting means and its set target value exceeds a prescribed value.
CONSTITUTION: A sheet crown controller 8 with which the work roll bender of a rolling mill 1 is controlled according to roll bend pressure is constituted by providing the flatness detecting means with which tension distribution in the width direction of a rolled stock 2 is detected, means for setting the target value, means for deciding whether the deviation of those values exceeds the prescribed value or not and limit means for restricting the magnitude of the roll bend pressure when deciding that the deviation exceeds the prescribed value. In this way, sheet crown control can be optimally executed in the range that the shape of the rolled stock isn't affected.
