PURPOSE: To make it possible to manufacture rotor by a molding metal mold while contriving improvement of strength and lightness of weight of the rotor so as to attain a cost down by reduction of work labor hours by forming the rotor into a multilayer structure with the peripheral part formed of long fiber resin compound material further with the internal part formed of short fiber resin compound material.
CONSTITUTION: In a Root's blower supercharger, a pair of rotors 4 are stored so as to rotate meshed each other in the inside of a housing 3 having a suction port 1 and a delivery port 2. Here, each rotor 4 is formed into a multilayer structure to form a peripheral part 5 of long fiber resin compound material and further an internal part 6 of short fiber resin compound material. To manufacture the rotor 4, first the long fiber resin compound material is arranged so as to be placed along an internal peripheral surface in a cavity of a molding metal mold 7. Next, a short fiber-contained resin composition is injected by injection molding into the inside, surrounded by the long fiber resin compound material, and compression-molded to integrally form the peripheral part 5 with the internal part 6.
