Abstract

PURPOSE:To miniaturize transformers provided for a cooling fan and a heater by a method wherein the intermittent operation of the cooling fan is permitted during the operation of a compressor and the operating period of time of the cooling fan is elongated when an atmospheric temperature is high while the intermittent operation of the heater is permitted during stopping of the compressor and the operating period of time of the heater is elongated when the atmospheric temperature is low. CONSTITUTION:A cooling fan 3 is operated only during the operation of a compressor 1 while a heater 4 is operated only during the stopping of the compressor 1. The cooling fan 3 and the heater 4 are never operated simultaneously and, therefore, an electric power, supplied for the cooling fan 3 and the heater 4, will never become big whereby the enlargement of a transformer 5 is not necessitated. On the other hand, a plurality of heaters and a plurality of switches are not necessitated. The operating period of time of intermittent operation of the cooling fan 3 is elongated stepwisely when the atmospheric temperature, detected by an atmospheric temperature detecting sensor 2, is higher whereby cooling in accordance with the atmospheric temperature can be effected. The operating time of the intermittent operation of the heater 4 is elongated stepwisely when the atmospheric temperature detected by the atmospheric temperature detecting sensor 2 is lower and, therefore, the operation in accordance with the atmospheric temperature can be effected.

The conditions under which the heater 18 is operated are that the compressor 12 is
In the FF state, if the outside temperature T detected by the outside temperature detection sensor 14 is 165° C., the heater 18 is continuously operated. When the temperature is between 5°C and 1515°C, run for 9 minutes, stop for 3 minutes, and then run for 9 minutes, as follows:
This situation continues to be reversed. When the outside temperature T is between 15° C. and 1520° C., the operating and stopping states are alternately repeated every 3 minutes. When the temperature is 20° C. to 1625° C., the heater 18 is operated for 3 minutes, stopped for 9 minutes, operated for another 3 minutes, and then stopped for 9 minutes. The conditions under which the cooling fan 16 is operated are as follows:
In the ON state, if the outside temperature T is 25° C.≦T, the device is operated continuously. When the outside temperature T is 15''C<T<25°C, operation and stopping are performed alternately every 3 minutes. Furthermore, when the outside temperature T is 1515°C, no operation is performed.

As described above, with this control device 10, the temperature inside the refrigerator can be appropriately changed in accordance with the outside temperature T, and the heater 18 and the cooling fan 16 are not operated at the same time. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 2, since the voltage can be transformed with one transformer 22,
The capacity of 2 can be reduced. Furthermore, this control device! 10, even when the heater 18 and the cooling fan 16 are in operation, they operate in an intermittent motion, so it is possible to achieve low noise and low power consumption. Furthermore, multiple heaters and multiple switches are not required even though the outside temperature is controlled in multiple stages.

In the above embodiment, the cooling fan 16 provided inside the machine room has been described, but instead of this, the cooling fan inside the refrigerator can also be controlled in the same way. Furthermore, the heater 18 can be similarly controlled not only for the heater for compensating the temperature inside the refrigerator but also for the heater for preventing dew condensation and the heater for preventing damper freezing.
