Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve machining accuracy by correcting the work origin position based on the measured results of the reference plane of a pallet.
CONSTITUTION: When it is detected that a pallet 11 is clamped to a table, a tool 120 is attached to a main spindle by an ATC, a main column is shifted from the origine position (Z=0) in the directions of X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis respectively, and stopped when a touch sensor 121 abuts on the reference plane 122. The origin position of a work is corrected for each, carried-in pallet 11 based on the shift amounts SX, SY, SZ through which the tool 120 is shifted in the direction of each axis before it is stopped. After the origin position is corrected, a machining tool 126 is loaded to the main spindle to machine the work-face 43 to be machined. Thus, since the work origin position is corrected even when deformation and positioning errors due to thermal expansion occur, the machining accuracy can be easily improved.
