Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the ability for overwriting by specifying the reflectance of a reflecting layer when one single layer of the reflecting layer is formed on a glass substrate and light enters from the substrate side.
CONSTITUTION: On a substrate 1, there are formed a recording layer 3 which changes the optical property according to the thermal hysteresis of heating and cooling with laser irradiation, and a reflecting layer 5. This reflecting layer is formed in a manner that when one single layer of the reflecting layer is formed on a glass substrate 1, the reflectance for light entering from the substrate side is between ≥25% and ≤70%. Ti, Cr, etc., is used for the reflecting layer which shows ≥1.0 extinction coefft. and <70% reflectance when a single layer of the reflecting layer is formed on the glass substrate to 350/k [nm] is to be used, the film thickness d[nm] in order to obtain the reflectance between ≥25% and ≤70%.
