Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve reliability by driving a switching circuit on condition that the control circuit for a switching circuit received both switch close detection signal and voltage drop detection signal.
CONSTITUTION: A power switch 2 is a double throw switch, where switch 2A opens or closes a main power source 1 for a load 4. A switch open/close monitoring circuit 5 is connected in parallel with a battery 7 through a switch 2B, and a switch close detection signal is fed to the P3 input of a control circuit 10 when the power switch 2 is closed. Upon receipt of a voltage drop detection signal from a source voltage monitoring circuit 6 under that condition, the control circuit 10 provides a drive signal to a switching circuit 8. Since the switch close detection signal extincts upon opening of the power switch 2, although the voltage drop detection signal is produced, the control circuit 10 does not provides driving signal and the switching circuit 8 is disabled.
