Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the possibility that printing may be conducted with the shift of perforation lines by providing a paper feed motor control part for controlling a paper feed motor, the paper feed motor to be started and stopped, and a notch detection part for detecting a notch of continuous printer paper and informing a positioning control part of the detection of the notch. CONSTITUTION:A started positioning control part 4 starts a notch detection part 7. The started notch detection part 7 informs the positioning control part 4 of the presence or absence of the detection of a notch 13 of continuous printer paper 11. If the detection is absent, the positioning control part 4 transmits a motor start command to a paper feed motor control part 5. If the detection is present, it informs a host device 1 of the completion of positioning. The paper feed motor control part 5 receiving a start command starts a paper feed motor 6. Next, the positioning control part 4 is informed of the presence or absence of the detection of the notch 13 by the notch detection part 7. If the detection is present, it transmits a motor action stop command to the paper feed motor control part 5 to stop the paper feed motor 6. Therefore, printing can be automatically restarted from a correct printing start position.

Continuous printer paper has perforations at regular intervals to mark page breaks. On the other hand, the printer device sends a command to the host device to convey paper for several lines every time a certain number of lines are printed, and performs printing operations while avoiding perforations. After printing, the continuous 1-liner paper is folded, cut and separated at the perforations, and then stored and used. Therefore, when loading continuous printer paper into the printer, make sure that the perforations match the perforation settings of the printer correctly.
It is necessary to make the host device recognize that perforation alignment has been completed. Perforation alignment is an essential task when restarting printing after printing has stopped due to a paper cut, paper jam, program abort, etc.

The conventional perforation alignment work described above is entirely performed manually by an operator. For this reason, there is a drawback that, in the event of a work error or during automatic recovery after printing is stopped, the perforations may be misaligned and one-shot printing may be performed.

At this time, as the notch 13 moves, the amount of light detected by the light receiver changes. When this amount of light reaches the maximum, the cut b detection section 7 determines whether positioning is -6? The controller 4 is notified that the notch 13 has been detected, and if no notch is detected, is notified that it has not been detected. The continuous printer paper 11 has a V-shaped cut 13 at at least one end of the thin line 12 for position detection.

According to the present invention, it is possible to simplify the operations performed by an operator when performing paper positioning of continuous printer paper, and thus it is effective in reducing erroneous operations. Furthermore, since automation is achieved by the host device, workers are no longer required to perform perforation alignment, which is an essential task when the printer automatically recovers after printing has stopped due to a paper cut, paper jam, program abort, etc. This has the advantage that printing can be automatically restarted from the correct printing start position.
