Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the recording and reproducing speed by reproducing a recorded data immediately after recording this data and recording the same data again in a successive sector when a discrepant amt. between both data exceeds a prescribed level.
CONSTITUTION: The subject device is provided with means (HF and decoder) 9 and 10 for reproducing the recorded data immediately after recording this data and a means (comparator) 12 for comparing the recorded data with the reproduced data, and when the discrepant amt. between both data exceeds the prescribed level, the same data is recorded in the successive sector. That is, a data is recorded while this recorded data is reproduced, and this recorded data and the reproduced data are compared to count up a number of their discrepancies, and when the number of these discrepancies exceeds a prescribed level, the same data is recorded in the next successive sector. By this method, since an alternate sector in case of recording failure is disposed immediately after the original sector, the reproducing speed is high speed, and the alternate sector is generated in response to an error state whenever it is effective, so that there is no chance to use up only the alternate sectors first.
