PURPOSE: To prevent the splashing-up of oil in the high speed revolution by installing a distance chamber dividing plate for dividing the inside of a distance chamber between the upper part of a crosshead and a piston into two spaces and installing a sealing mechanism between the dividing plate and a piston rod, in a thermal engine such as Stirling engine.
CONSTITUTION: In a Stirling engine, a power piston (not shown on the figure) is connected through a rod 14 for power piston with a crosshead 13 which is connected through a connecting rod 11 for the power piston with a crankshaft (not shown on the figure), and an oil absorbing material 17 is installed in an intermediate space between the crosshead 13 and the power piston 15. In this case, a partitioning plate 33 for partitioning a distance chamber between the crosshead 13 and the power piston 15 into the upper and lower chambers 33 and 34 is installed, and sealing mechanisms (36 and 37) are installed between the dividing plate 33 and the piston rod 14. Further, a communication pipe 26 for the communication between a buffer chamber 24 and a lower chamber 34 is installed, and an oil separator 34 and a check valve 30 are installed midway in the communication pipe 26.
