Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep a high precision flatness under control by estimating a rolling load, a predictive error of roll profile and a predictive model error of plate crown and determining a proper work roll bending force on and after the following pass.
CONSTITUTION: An actual result of load from a load cell 4, flatness information from a flatness indicator 6, plate crown information from a plate crown measuring device 8, an actual result of bending force, rolling condition data from a process computer 5 are inputted respectively to a CPU7. The predictive error of load, the predictive error of work roll crown and the predictive model error of plate crown are operated from each of these data to determine the bending forces on and after the following pass. The determined signals are outputted to a controller 3 and adequate bending forces are give to an upper and a lower work roll 1, 1' to enable rolling in a high precision flatness.
