Abstract

PURPOSE: To view a desired program in an excellent reception state at all times by selecting a channel obtaining a best reception state in each channel through which a same program is broadcast automatically.
CONSTITUTION: A video signal from a master tuner 10 and a slave tuner 11 is converted into a binary data at binarizing means 15, 16, given respectively to picture memories 18, 19, a picture comparator circuit 21 compares the stored binary data and outputs a coincidence signal representing it that a same program as a reception channel of the master tuner 10 is broadcast through other channel. Then an electric field strength comparator circuit 17 compares the electric field strength of the reception channel of both the tuners 10, 11, outputs a comparison signal, and a program following channel changeover circuit 22 allows the master tuner 10 to select a reception channel of the master tuner 10 or the other channel through which the same program is broadcast which has a higher electric field. Thus, a desired program is viewed in an excellent reception state at all times.
