Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the purging processing efficiency of a device which discharges a recording sheet remaining on a sheet conveyance path dedicated to a both-surface multiplex mode through a common sheet conveyance path by a 2nd control means when the discharging of a recording sheet by a 1st purging control means is completed, and performs both-surface multiple recording. CONSTITUTION:When a purging start request means 13 generates a request for the purging process for the recording sheet 4 remaining in the common sheet conveyance path 6 and sheet conveyance path 7 dedicated to the both-surface multiple recording mode, a purging preparation control means 15 operates 1st and 2nd sheet conveying means 8 and 9 to move the recording sheet 4 which stays in both the conveyance paths 6 and 7 temporarily to a position in the conveyance where it does not interfere with other sheets. Then the 1st purging control means 16 discharges the sheet 4 remaining in the conveyance path 6 to a sheet discharging means 5 continuously. When the discharging of the sheet 4 by the 1st purging control means 16 is completed, a 2nd purging control means 17 operates the 1st and 2nd sheet conveying means 8 and 9 to discharge the sheet 4 which remains in the conveyance path 7 continuously to the discharging means 5 through the conveyance path 6.
