Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain stable and safe underwater image pickup by displaying a prescribed warning onto a finder when any of oxygen bomb residual quantity, residual quantity of a recording medium and residual quantity of a battery reaches a prescribed value or below. CONSTITUTION:A residual pressure signal S1 from a pressure sensor 12, a data residual quantity signal from a recorder 18 and a battery residual quantity signal S3 are compared respectively with reference values TH1, TH2, TH3 by comparator circuits 40, 42, 44. The result of comparison is fed to an AIR mark generating circuit 46, a TAPE mark generating circuit 48, and a BATT mark generating circuit 50 respectively. When the bomb residual pressure, the tape residual quantity or the battery residual quantity reaches respectively a prescribed value TH1, TH2 or TH3 or below, a video signal of a relevant mark is generated and when any of the bomb residual pressure, the tape residual quantity and the battery residual quantity reaches the reference value TH1, TH2 and TH3 or below respectively, an END mark generating circuit 54 generates a video signal of an END mark. Outputs of the mark generating circuits 46, 48, 50, 54 are synthesized by an adder circuit 56 and the mum is fed to a synthesis circuit 22.

In conventional underwater photography devices, only the camera and its accessory parts (for example, video lights, etc.) are waterproofed. That is, a camera-type VTR for general use is housed in a waterproof case and used. The waterproof case consists of a housing that can be divided into two parts to allow the camera-integrated VTR to be put in and taken out, and the divided parts can be joined together with a watertight structure such as an O-ring.

[Problem to be solved by the invention] When scuba diving, it is a golden rule to constantly check the remaining amount of oxygen in the oxygen tank, but when taking underwater photographs,
I tend to get so absorbed in shooting that I forget to check the amount remaining in my oxygen tank. This is extremely dangerous.

[Function] With the above means, it is possible to know when to replace the oxygen cylinder, recording medium, and battery without taking your eyes off the finder. Therefore, even if the user is absorbed in taking pictures, it is possible to prevent the user from forgetting to check the residual pressure in the oxygen cylinder, and also to prevent the user from missing a chance to take pictures. This allows underwater photography to be carried out safely and with peace of mind.
