Abstract

PURPOSE: To remarkably increase the amt. of dust at the outlet of an electrostatic precipitator, to drastically miniaturize the preipitator and to save energy such as electric energy by using a wetted-tray scrubber as the dust-collecting an desulfurizing scrubber.
CONSTITUTION: The waste gas from a pulverized-coal-fired boiler 2 is passed through an electrostatic precipitator 3 and a dust-collecting and desulfurizing device 4, and the dust is collected and the gas is desulfurized. The treated waste gas is discharged into the atmosphere, and the recovered solid is separately discharged. In this case, a wetted-tray scrubber 4 in which a soln. is circulated and reused is used as the dust-collecting and desulfurizing device, and the dust content of 0.6-5.0g/Nm3 at the inlet of the scrubber 4 is reduced by this system to ≤0.1g/Nm3 at the outlet. consequently, the amt. of dust at the precipitator outlet is drastically increased. Accordingly, the precipitator is drastically miniaturized, and energy such as electric energy is saved.
