Abstract

PURPOSE:To balance an exerted steering force with a reaction force so as to enhance the steering property of a power steering device by providing each compensating valve with a leak hole which when the valve is actuated restricts pressure oil to be given to a hydraulic auxiliary booster and supplies the oil to a reaction hydraulic pressure means. CONSTITUTION:Right and left compensating valves 22a, 22b are provided with respective leak holes each of which when actuation of each valve is started restricts hydraulic oil to be given to a hydraulic auxiliary booster 5 and supplies the oil to a reaction hydraulic pressure means 21. A program controlling circuit 7 receives a detection signal from a steering force sensor 3 and the compensating valves 22a, 22b are actuated by solenoid valves 22a, 22b and then pressure oil from a hydraulic pressure generating means 4 is supplied to a piston provided inside the compensating valves 22a, 22b. The pressure oil is restricted by a restricting portion and discharged to a supply passage leading from each leak hole to the reaction hydraulic pressure means 21 and during the process supply pressure is reduced so that sudden large pressure is avoided. Exertion of a sudden reaction force simultaneous with handling of a steering wheel 1 is thus prevented so as to enhance the steering property of a power steering device.
