Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve good printing while a platen is in direct contact with a dot by forming a glaze layer where a common electrode pattern is formed except for a part at the side near to a heat generating resistance body, and providing an auxiliary conductor above the glaze layer including the excepted part.
CONSTITUTION: A glaze layer 2 where a common electrode pattern 3 is formed and at the side closer to a heat generating resistance body 4 is notched a predetermined length and a predetermined width, thereby forming a groove 21. An auxiliary conductor 5 is provided above the glaze layer 2 including the upper surface of the groove 21. The auxiliary conductor 5 is on the common electrode pattern 3, spreading from one end of an insulative substrate 1 to the groove 21 with the height approximately equal to that of the heat generating resistance body 4. Therefore, if the common electrode pattern 3 is formed narrower in width, it is possible to make the heat generating resistance body 4 further closer to an edge of the insulative substrate 1, whereby the apparatus is eventually turned compact. A common resistance can be rendered small by the auxiliary conductor 5, and the printing quality becomes good.
