Abstract

PURPOSE: To attract a processed item or a mother material and transport it by incorporating a solenoid coil to a processing liquid spouting nozzle situated in the upper part of an electric discharge machining device to perform processing while processing liquid is being supplied, and thereby equipping it with function as an electric magnet.
CONSTITUTION: An electric discharge machining device concerned is furnished in the upper part with a processing liquid spouting nozzle 18, which consists of a magnetic substance embodied in double structure in the radial direction, and in this magnetic substance a solenoid coil 19 is incorporated concentrically with a wire electrode and consolidated, wherein the nozzle 18 is constituted as an electric magnet so as to attract mother material 12 or a processed item 17 and transport it. Therefore, if the solenoid coil 19 is energized after drawing off the wire electrode from guides 5, 6 when the processed item 17 is separated from the mother material 12 completely, a magnetic path is formed by an inmer yoke 20, an outer yoke 21, and the processed item 17, and a magnetic flux flows in the direction of Arrow A1, and the processed item 17 is attracted to the nozzle 18. Thus the processed item 17 is drawn off upward and carried out in the horizontal direction.
