When the spout reduced in size is repaired, an electric furnace is temporarily stopped, and the flange at the joint of the spout 1 and the tube 2 provided on a furnace cover is separated. Then, the spout 1 is moved down to separate the spout 1 from the tube 2, and a short tube 6 with a flange having the same length l as the reduced length of the spout is provided at the joint. Thus, repairing is completed easily in a short time.
