Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable sampling of sample water by providing an outer cap which touches to an upper grid plate of a nuclear reactor pressure vessel, and an inner cap which touches to an uppermost end of a fuel assembly channel box.
CONSTITUTION: Compressed air is fed into an outer cap 10 through an air feed pipe 13, with preventing flowing-in of coolant into an outer cap 10, by a sealing material 25. On the other hand, a water level detecting pipe 3 inhales an atmosphere in the outer cap 10. Then, a level of cooling water in the outer cap 10, which is pressed by the compressed air, falls down gradually. At this time, levels of the coolant in- and outside the inner cap 11 do not change, due to a space provided in the inner cap 11. Accordingly, when sample water is sampled through a water sampling pipe 14 at the moment which a water level detector 23 begins to inhale the compressed air, other than the coolant, the sampled water shows radio-activity concentration in a fuel assembly correctly.
