Abstract

PURPOSE: To vulcanize a rubber latex at low temperature within a short time by simultaneously employing an acrylate ester, a hydroperoxide and a reducing agent.
CONSTITUTION: A rubber latex is vulcanized with (A) an acrylate ester (preferably n-butyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, t-butyl acrylate, 1,6-hexanediol diacrylate, neopentyl glycol diacrylate, tetramethylol methane tetraacrylate, etc.), (B) a hydroperoxide (preferably t-butyl hydroperoxide, cumene hydroperoxide, diisopropybenzene hydroperoxide, etc.) and (C) a reducing agent (preferably tetraethylene pentamine, pentaethylene hexamine, diethylene triamine, etc.). The components A, B and C are added to the rubber latex preferably in amounts of 1-20 pts.wt., 0.05-2 pts.wt. and 0.05-2 pts.wt., respectively, per 100 pts.wt. of the solid content of the rubber latex.
