Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the construction period by installing side plates on the cross section sides, of an arch ring constructed by connecting precast composite beam girders to form the inside of the arch ring into box-section, and placing concrete within the cross section.
CONSTITUTION: Lower flange concretes 5 of plural precast composite beam girders 1 are arranged in parallel so that they are in contact with each other, and each one end of the composite beam girders 1 is fixed to each abutment 7 of both banks. On the top of the erected composite beam girder 1, another composite beam girder 1 is arranged in parallel to each other across the bridge- width, and an arch ring 13 is continuously constructed along the bridge-length. Further, concrete side plates 6 are installed on the side faces of both outside composite beam girders 1 along the bridge-length to form the cross section of the arch ring 13 into box-section by concretes 5 and the side plates 6. Reinforcing steels are assembled within the box section, and then concrete 16 is placed. Further, vertical members 17 and stiffening girders 18 are erected on the arch ring 13 to build up an arch bridge.
