Next, a predetermined voltage is added into the inside of a direct current plasma device in a hydrogen atmosphere having a predetermined pressure, and a reducing sputtering treatment is administered to the sliding member 20 so that black lead 25 at the surface layer of the spherical black lead cast iron 21 is removed. And then the sliding member 20 is heated to a predetermined temperature in a predetermined pressure ammonia gas atmosphere, and also gas nitriding or the like is administered, and nitriding film is formed at sliding surface. And at the nitriding film, a nitride iron layer 23 and a nitrogen diffusion layer 22 are respectively formed at the surface layer and at the lower layer.
