Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve image resolution by arranging a charged toner supply source on one side of a printing head structure and a transparent image receiving member on the other side adjacently. CONSTITUTION: The action of an electrostatic advancing wave pattern formed on a conveyor 18 moves a charged toner particle 34 from a development supply source 20 to the conveyor 18 along the conveyor 18 to an area facing the opening 35 of a printing head. The moved particle 34 is affected by an electrostatic fringe electric field from the printing head 14 and affected by an electric field by a voltage applied to a shoe 16 finally. The voltage applied to an addressable electrode 40 is adjusted to 0-350 bolts by a DC power source 41 and a switch 39 and the gradation of images is changed. A recording medium 42 is a transparent base member for which an adhesive material is applied to one surface, rotationally driven by a motor 48 and passed in front of the opening 35. The DC bias voltage of 400 bolts is applied from the DC power source 50 to the shoe 16 and toner not passed through the head is removed in downstream by a roll 46 and a blade 48. In such a manner, the images of high resolution are formed.
