Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically reconstitute a multiprocessor system in a short time and with high efficiency by replacing a faulty element processor with a spare processor stored in the same block.
CONSTITUTION: Plural element processors 12 are divided into blocks 15 every prescribed number of processors 12, and a spare processor 17 and reconstitution controller 16 are provided to each block 15. When a certain element processor 18 has a fault, the fault report is sent to the corresponding controller 16 from the processor 18. Thus the controller 16 replaces the processor 18 with a processor 17 stored in the same block 16 to reconstitute a multiprocessor system. In such a constitution, the system is automatically reconstituted in a short time and at the same time the reconstitution is controlled with reduced waste in terms of hardware.
