Abstract

PURPOSE: To control an in-furnace pressure and oxygen concn. to target values and to lessen energy by measuring the infurnace pressure and the oxygen concn. in an atmosphere gas and controlling the pressure of static pressure pads disposed in proximity to a steel sheet.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of the static pressure pads 10 are disposed in proximity to both surface sides of the steel sheet 5 passed near the delivery port for the steel sheet 5 in the alloying furnace 6 for galvanizing. The in-furnace pressure is measured by a furnace pressure measuring instrument 15 and the oxygen concn. in the in-furnace atmosphere gas is measured. The pressure of the static pressure pads 10 is regulated by an in-furnace pressure regulator 16 and an air flow rate control valve 17, by which the inlet side furnace pressure of the furnace 6 is controlled to the target value. The control of the inlet side pressure of the furnace 6 to a positive pressure is possible and the decrease of the air filtering the furnace 6 to zero is possible as well. The in-furnace atmosphere is, therefore, not affected by the infiltering air and the oxygen concn. is controlled to a specified concn.
