Abstract

PURPOSE: To record an image of two colors by switching a polarity of a bias for electrifying toner supplied to a developing unit and a polarity of a bias voltage for electrifying paper fed to a transfer device.
CONSTITUTION: With respect to photosensitive drum 10, an optical conductive material 10b such as an OPC is applied to the surface of a conductive cylindrical base 10a, and the drum makes one turn in the direction of an allow for each copying cycle. Processing parts such as exposing, transferring, developing, fixing and cleaning parts are arranged around the photosensitive drum 10. Then, negative black toner and positive red toner mixing into one developing unit 20 are selectively developed and transferred to record the image of two colors by selectively switching each of the polarity of the bias voltage for electrifying toner and the polarity of the bias voltage for electrifying paper supplied and fed to th developing unit 20 and the transfer unit 30. Therefore, a copy of two colors can be attained by providing one developing unit.
