Claims (1)

    【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. 光源からの光を液晶表示パネルに入射させ、前
    記液晶表示パネルの表示画像を表示する液晶表示
    装置において、前記光源からの光をＰ偏光成分の
    光とＳ偏光成分の光とに分離し一方の直線偏光光
    を前記液晶表示パネルに入射させる偏光ビームス
    プリツタと、この偏光ビームスプリツタで分離さ
    れた他方の直線偏光光を前記一方の直線偏光光と
    同じ方向の偏光光に変えて前記液晶表示パネルに
    入射させる偏光方向変換手段とを具備したことを
    特徴とする液晶表示装置。
