Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject resin composition having excellent weather- resistance and adhesivity and suitable for coating use, etc., by compounding a vinyl copolymer resin with a specific amount of an orthopropionic acid ester and/or orthobutyric acid ester, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition can be produced by compounding (A) 100 pts.wt. of a copolymer resin composed of (A1) 0.5-50 pts.wt. of a vinyl monomer containing alkoxysilyl group (e.g., γ-methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane) and (A2) 99.5-50 pts.wt. of other vinyl monomer copolymerizable with the component A1 (e.g., methyl methacrylate) with (B) 0.5-30 pts.wt., preferably 1-20 pts.wt. of an orthopropionic acid ester and/or orthobutyric acid ester and (C) 5-50 pts.wt., preferably 10-40 pts.wt. of an alkyl alcohol having 1-10C alkyl group (e.g., methyl alcohol).
