Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent not only the generation of an unpleasant smell but also an eruption of the skin by incorporating ceramics or zeolite in the core material of a diaper or similar article thereof. CONSTITUTION:When ceramics are contained in a paper diaper, far infrared rays having a wavelength of 6-14mum are always applied to the body from the paper diaper not only to activate the moisture of the body but also to induce perspiration while sweat is absorbed by the diaper and sterilized by ceramics to bring the body to an active state. At the time of urination, urine is immediately absorbed by the paper diaper to be activated, sterilized and deodorized. When zeolite is used together with ceramics, since zeolite has ion exchange properties and also has sterilizing capacity, deodorizing properties and hygroscopicity, the synergistic effect of both of them appears and effect is further increased. The total wt. percentage of ceramics or both of ceramics and zeolite to the paper diaper, especially, to the core material thereof is arbitrary but about 5% by wt. of the whole or more is proper and, in the case of below 5wt.%, effect becomes hard to appear. Further, the upper limit thereof is about 30% usually.

(Prior art and its problems) Disposable diapers or sanitary napkins are generally made by covering a core material of pulverized pulp layered on tissue with tissue, polyethylene film, nonwoven fabric, etc. By adding water-absorbing resin in the form of a sheet, water absorption can be significantly increased.

However, while pulp or blotting paper has a water absorbing power of about 20 times its own weight, water absorbing resins have a water absorbing power of 100 times or more, and even higher ones have a water absorbing power of about 1000 times or more. The reason for this is said to be that water molecules are trapped within the network structure of the water-absorbing resin. For this reason, recently there have been an extremely large number of products that use pulp or absorbent paper in combination with water-absorbing resin.

It is true that even if you urinate while wearing this diaper, especially a disposable diaper made of water-absorbent resin core material, it absorbs urine well, and when you touch it with your hand, all the urine has been absorbed, and it doesn't look damp at first glance. Demand is growing rapidly because it feels like urine and there is almost no smell of urine.

However, the skin on that part of the body where the diaper is worn is weak, so if the diaper is left on for a little while, problems arise such as an unpleasant odor and skin irritation. This tends to be particularly severe in newborn babies.

The cause of this is not certain, but it is likely that no matter how well the diaper absorbs urine, bacteria still exist, and the surface layer of the diaper and the surface of the skin are covered with urine residue that becomes a source of culture for bacteria. This is heated together with the diaper by body heat. After a while, bacteria and the like will proliferate not only on the surface layer but also inside the core material, causing the urine to change in quality, producing an unpleasant odor and causing skin irritation.

When disposable diapers contain ceramics that easily emit far infrared rays with a wavelength of 6 to 14 microns, far infrared rays with a wavelength of 6 to 14 microns are constantly emitted from the diaper to the body, activating water in the body and removing sweat. It absorbs, sterilizes, and leaves you in a vital state. And if you urinate,
The disposable diaper immediately absorbs this urine, activating it, sterilizing it, and deodorizing it.

For this reason, it sterilizes not only the urine absorbed by the disposable diaper, but also the surface layer and skin surface, and the growth of bacteria etc. is significantly suppressed. Even if the diaper is left on, it will not change in quality and will not cause unpleasant odors. There is no irritation or irritation to the skin, and the state of comfort lasts significantly compared to conventional ones.

In particular, when the ceramics are contained only in the core material of a disposable diaper, the core material is covered with a nonwoven fabric or the like, so that the ceramics do not come into direct contact with the skin.

However, one of the characteristics of the ceramics of the present invention is that they are extremely safe, but if they come into direct contact with the skin, there is a risk of skin irritation to some extent in cases of idiosyncratic constitution. It will be resolved.

In particular, when it is contained only in the core material, it may be contained in the pulp or blotting paper that constitutes the core material, but in order to increase the water absorption, it is necessary to use a water-absorbing resin in combination.
In this case, it is common to include one or both of these.

The total weight percentage of the ceramics or zeolite in the core material of the paper diaper is arbitrary, but it is suitable to be at least 5%, and if it is less than this, this effect will not be readily apparent. The upper limit varies depending on the material used or its structure, but the larger the number, the greater the effect. However, as the size increases, problems may arise in terms of strength and weight, so
It is important to take this point into consideration when making a decision.

Ceramics that easily emit far-infrared rays are usually natural or synthetic, but it is more preferable to use them in the form of fine powder. Further, it is more preferable to make the material porous because the deodorizing property becomes greater.

EXAMPLE A super absorbent resin based on sodium acrylate described below was laminated on a blotting paper, and then another blotting paper was further laminated on top of the blotting paper, which was then lightly pressed, and then water vapor was sprayed on it and then dried. Next, the entire surface is covered with a polyethylene film that is lightly heat-pressed. Next, numerous needles are inserted into only the surface that comes into contact with the skin to create micropores so that water can be absorbed.

Next, urinate on this surface to absorb enough water. Next, the surface with numerous micropores was applied to the skin inside the crotch using sanitary adhesive tape, and the surface was left in place for two days to prevent the absorbed urine from evaporating. These were then peeled off and checked.
