DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention has a plurality of sensors arranged in parallel in the left and right direction of the vehicle body, each of which detects whether the running area is an untreated work area or a treated work area at each installation position on the vehicle body. The vehicle is equipped with a tracing sensor consisting of a plurality of sensors, and controls the steering so that a boundary is located between predetermined adjacent sensors among the plurality of sensors, thereby distinguishing between an untreated work area and a treated work area in the driving area. The present invention relates to an automatic traveling work vehicle equipped with a control device for automatically driving the vehicle along a predetermined boundary.

By the way, since the boundary detection is performed by detecting whether the driving area is an untreated work area or a treated work area, the detection signal of the sensor has a characteristic that it becomes discontinuous. Since the detection signal of the sensor cannot be used as it is as a control parameter for steering control, it is possible to integrate the sensor detection signal in advance to convert it into a continuous signal, and then use that signal as the control parameter. It is being done. and,
In steering control, it is desirable to return to a neutral state as quickly as possible when a boundary is detected so that the running direction of the vehicle follows the boundary. The time constant, which sets the time required to integrate detection signal changes from adjacent sensors and convert them into a continuous signal, was set to be equal to the time constant for each sensor, which caused the following problem.

If the time constant of the sensor is set to a large value, the steering control itself will be slow, so for example, if a sensor next to an untreated work area moves to a treated work area, the steering control itself will be slow. The return to the treated work area is slow, the amount of displacement of the vehicle body from the untreated work area to the treated work area is large, and the ability to follow boundaries is low, resulting in low work efficiency.

If the time constants of the sensors are both set to small, when the vehicle is traveling along the boundary, the sensor next to the untreated work area may temporarily stop depending on the situation on the untreated work area. Even if the vehicle is incorrectly detected as a treated work area, the vehicle body will be misaligned to the treated work area and the vehicle will be steered towards the untreated work area. Otherwise, the vehicle body may be stuck in the untreated work area, making it impossible to trace the area.

The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned circumstances, and is a device having the above-mentioned scanning sensor structure, which has a small control response delay and eliminates the influence of dispersion information in an untreated work area.
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an automatically traveling work vehicle that can successfully follow along a boundary.

In order to achieve the above object, the automatic traveling work vehicle according to the present invention has the above-mentioned structure, in which detection signals of the predetermined adjacent sensors are changed from an unprocessed work area detection state to a processed work area detection state. To set the time constant for integrating changes, set the time constant of the sensor placed on the treated work area side with respect to the vehicle traveling direction to be smaller than the time constant of the sensor placed on the untreated work area side. The settings are considered to be feature configurations.

That is, for example, when a vehicle body that has been displaced across an untreated work area is returned to the boundary, the signal change of the sensor next to the treated work area from the untreated work area detection state to the processed work area detection state. The delay is small, and the steering condition can be quickly returned to neutral to follow the boundary, and the sensor next to the untreated work area detects the Even if there is a disturbance, the time constant for integrating the detection signal is large, so the untreated work area is erroneously detected as a treated work area, and based on this, the vehicle body is erroneously steered toward the untreated work area. It is possible to avoid leaving an unprocessed work area in the middle of the work area, and avoid the position of the vehicle body shifting too much to the unprocessed work area, making it impossible to follow the work area. I was able to drive well.

As shown in FIG. 2, the two optical sensors S 1 and S 2 constituting the copying sensor A are mounted on a sensor mounting frame 8 provided on the lawn mower 4 with U-shaped sensor frames 7, 7 on the vehicle body. A light-emitting element P1 and a light-receiving element P2 are provided as a pair on the inner facing surface of the sensor frame 7, and are fixedly arranged in parallel in the left-right direction.
By sensing the presence or absence of grass introduced as the vehicle body 1 travels between P1 and the light receiving element P2 ,
It is configured to determine the boundary L between uncut land B and cut land C. Note that sensor A is a light sensor.
It is not limited to those using S 1 and S 2 , and may be constructed from any type of sensor, including contact type and non-contact type.

The signal processing circuit 9 is provided individually for each of the optical sensors S 1 and S 2 constituting the scanning sensor A, and counts the output pulse C p from the distance sensor 5 to obtain a predetermined count value N 1 . , N 2 , and a counter 10 that generates a carry signal Q o of "H " level every

The counter 10 and the flip-flop 11 have their respective reset terminals R commonly connected, and the uncut ground B is detected from the optical sensors S 1 and S 2 .

On the other hand, like the counter 10, the flip-flop 11 continues the reset state when the sensor signal P is at the "H" level, and regardless of the change in the sensor signal P, the flip-flop 11 maintains the "H" level corresponding to the grass detection state, regardless of the change in the sensor signal P. Continuously outputs a level signal. Then, only when the sensor signal P is at "L" level and the carry signal Qo is input,
This state is inverted and an "L" level signal, ie, a signal corresponding to the grass non-detection state, is output.

Therefore, the flip-flop 11 is reset at the same time that the optical sensors S 1 and S 2 detect the grass;
From then on, the "H" level signal is output regardless of the intermittence of the signal P from the optical sensors S 1 and S 2 , and the optical sensors S 1 and S 2 continue to be in a non-detection state of grass, and the vehicle body 1 If the vehicle has traveled a specified distance,
The signal is reliably inverted to the "L" level, and a signal indicating the grass non-detection state is obtained.

Therefore, as shown in Fig. 4, the sensor signal P changes discontinuously to "H" and "L", and as shown in the part shown in Fig. 4, due to the density of the grass, etc. Even if a signal whose pulse width is considerably wider than other parts is output, the flip-flop 1
Since a continuous "H" level signal is obtained from 1, the control device 6 will not malfunction due to this.

On the other hand, the predetermined count value N1 of the counter 10 of the signal processing circuit 9 of the optical sensor S1 disposed on the outside of the vehicle body 1 is
Since the predetermined count value N2 of the counter 10 is set smaller than the predetermined count value N2, that is, the integration time constant of the optical sensor S1 is set smaller than the integration time constant of the sensor S2 , as shown in FIG. As shown, the delay time t' until the flip-flop 11 is reversed and changed to the "L" level after the optical sensor S1 detects the no-grass condition is equal to the delay time t of the flip-flop 11 on the optical sensor S2 side. It will be faster than

Therefore, when the traveling direction of the vehicle body 1 deviates from the untreated work area B towards the treated work area C beyond the boundary L, the actual processed work area C of the optical sensor S1
The output response of the detection signal becomes faster, and the response delay of the control for correcting the traveling direction of the vehicle body 1 can be reduced.
