Conventionally, waterproof boxes having such a waterproof function include, for example, boxes for housing various electrical parts for vehicles. To illustrate this with respect to a fuse box, there is one as shown in a perspective view in FIG. 6 and in a vertical sectional view taken along the line B--B in FIG. 7 in FIG. That is, in the figure, the fuse box A' consists of a box body (hereinafter simply referred to as the body) 1 and a cover 2', and the body 1 is connected to the upper wall 1.
It has a configuration in which a plurality of fuse insertion portions 3 are provided on the side wall 1b, and a lock projection 4 and a flange portion 5 are provided on the side wall 1b.

A fuse 8 is inserted into the fuse terminal 7 through the upper opening 3b. The electric wire 6 is connected to the bottom open part 1c of the main body 1.
It is pulled out from the tape 9 and focused by the tape 9. The main body 1 with the fuse 8 assembled in this manner is fixed to a vehicle body panel (not shown) or the like at the flange portion 5.

As shown in FIGS. 8 and 9 in partial cross-sectional view, the lock for attaching the cover 2' to the main body 1 is such that the lower circumferential wall 2c of the cover 2' is attached to the upper side wall 1b of the main body 1 by a stepped portion 2b. This is done by fitting the main body until it comes into contact with the upper wall 1a and locking the lock protrusion 4 of the main body 1 in the opening 10a of the lock arm 10.

However, in the conventional waterproof box A', in order to facilitate the locking of the lock projection 4 to the lock arm opening 10a when locking the cover 2' to the main body 1, as shown in FIG. When the stepped portion 2b of the cover 2' is brought into contact with the upper wall 1a of the main body, a clearance d is formed between the lock protrusion 4 and the opening end 10b of the lock arm. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 9, when the lock arm 10 is completely locked against the lock protrusion 4, the above-mentioned clearance d is created between the stepped portion 2b of the cover 2' and the upper wall 1a of the main body. A corresponding gap d 1 results. Therefore, in the conventional waterproof box A', although the waterproof effect can be obtained when water is poured from above the cover 2',

There is a problem in that water enters in the direction of arrow A through the fitting gap consisting of the gap d 2 between B and the lower peripheral wall 2c of the cover 2' and the gap d 1 , and a complete waterproof effect cannot be obtained. Ta.

The characteristic feature of the waterproof box A of the present invention is the main body upper wall 1a provided on the peripheral wall of the cover 2.
A flexible wall 11 is vertically disposed over the entire circumference of the step 2b, as shown in FIG. When the cover 2 is integrally molded using a plastic material, the flexible wall 11 can be made thin to provide elasticity and flexibility. Further, the vertical length l of the flexible wall 11 is set so that the cover 2 is attached to the main body 1 as described above, and the lock protrusion 4 provided on the main body 1 is completely engaged with the lock arm 10, and the vertical length l of the flexible wall 11 is set to the step portion 2b. Main body upper wall 1a
The thickness t of the flexible wall 11 is slightly larger than the gap d1 that occurs between the main body side wall 1b and the lower peripheral wall 2c of the cover 2, which occurs when the cover 2 is attached to the main body 1. The lower end edge 11a of the flexible wall 11 is set to be able to partially fit into the gap d2 .
Further, the lower end edge 11a of the flexible wall 11 is provided with a main body upper wall 1a.
A taper 11b is provided with its tapered surface facing inward so as to be flexible in the direction of the gap d 2 when it comes into contact with the gap d 2 .

The function of the waterproof box A of the present invention will be explained below based on FIGS. 3 and 4. First, as shown in FIG. 3, when the cover 2 is pressed against the main body 1 in the direction of the arrow R and attached, the lock arm 10 of the cover 2 becomes flexible before it fully engages with the lock protrusion 4 of the main body 1. The lower edge 11a of the wall 11 is the upper wall 1a of the main body
and deflects outward along the upper wall 1a, causing a gap.
Enter into d 2 . Next, as shown in FIG. 4, when the cover 2 is moved in the direction of the arrow C to completely engage the lock protrusion 4 in the opening 10a of the lock arm 10, the flexible wall 11 is brought into close contact with the entire circumference of the upper part of the main body side wall 1b. to completely close gaps d 1 and d 2 and completely prevent water from entering from the outside via these fitting gaps.

As explained in detail above, the waterproof box of the present invention has a flexible wall hanging down from the stepped part of the cover peripheral wall that comes into contact with the upper wall of the main body, and when the cover is fitted to the main body, the fitting gap is filled by the flexible wall. Since it is configured to be closed, there is an advantage that water can be completely prevented from entering through the fitting gap.
